UHS Phlebotomy Services - appointment only from 10th August 2020

Phlebotomy services are changing to an appointment only system to enable social distancing and reduce waiting times for patients.  Patients can choose where and when they have their blood test. Appointments can be made by GPs, outpatient clinics or by patients. The number to make appointments is 023 8120 4877 Monday-Friday 08.00-18.00.  The phone number will be operational from 10th August 2020.

The walk in service will be phased out as the appointment system embeds; patients please ensure you start to book your appointment from 10th August 2020

All patients should bring their blood form with them to the appointment, as the Phlebotomists may not be able to print it for them.

Phlebotomy services are available at Southampton General Hospital, C level, South Laboratory Block, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.45pm

The blood test service for children is not changing; these will continue to be done in the Butterfly Room, C level, Monday to Friday 8.30 and 11am, and 2pm and 5pm. 16 and 17 year olds may visit the adult blood test service instead if they prefer – but they have to book an appointment and bring their form with them. More information on Children’s blood tests can be found here.

Dental Advice for People Living with Dementia

In patients living with dementia, their oral health is often at higher risk as they are less like to remember to brush, may be physically unable to brush as effectively/at all, or have lost the understanding of the importance of keeping their teeth clean.

Therefore, they are more likely to develop dental decay, gum disease and experience dental pain. Guidance and help is available below Dental advice for people living with Dementia

Join our Patient Participation Group (PPG)...

Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) were developed as a means to extend patient involvement in ways that encourage people to engage with the NHS. PPGs bring together those patients who take an interest in healthcare with representatives from their local practice. St Luke's and Botley PPG works in partnership aiming to continually improve the patient experience, ensuring services, plans, and activities respond to patients needs and priorities. The PPG is open to all patients registered at the practice and all practice staff
