Changes to our Telephony Service:
As part of our ongoing review of services, we have been focusing on our main telephone operating hours. We have decided that, to streamline our service in line with our partner practices, and to maximise the use of our reception resources, from 1st May 2018 we shall operate the service as follows:
To access same day urgent care, telephone lines will be open during the following hours:
Monday: 08:00 – 11:00 and 14:00 – 17:00
Tuesday: 08:00 – 11:00 and 14:00 – 17:00
Wednesday: 08:00 – 11:00 and 14:00 – 17:00
Thursday: 08:00 – 11:00 and 14:00 – 17:00
Friday: 09:00 – 11:00 and 14:00 – 17:00
During the lunchtime period from 12:00 – 14:00 the main surgery line will be closed.
We are aware that most local surgeries close their telephone lines over lunchtime. This provides a clearly defined break between morning and afternoon surgeries and enables our reception and clinical teams to communicate more efficiently with each other; we have found recently that morning and afternoon sessions have run into each other and that this has caused the teams some difficulties in communication.
In the event that you require urgent telephone access to the surgery between the lunchtime hours of 12:00 and 14:00, please call 07732 697546.
- Our main surgery telephone number remains: 01489 783422.
- For general enquiries, our telephone lines will remain open each day until 18:30.
- Our routine GP appointments will continue to be released at 09:00 daily (for 7 days in advance).
- For enquiries following recent tests or investigations, our telephone lines will be open after 14:00.
- Our on-line patient access service is available to schedule appointments or request prescriptions on –line, please ask reception for a sign up form if not already registered.
- e-Consultation enables patients aged 18years or over to access the surgery for advice 24/7.
St Luke's Surgery doors will remain open between 08:00 and 18:30 (09:00 on Fridays).

Due to problems encountered with text messaging of test results, the sending of these has been suspended. For information about your test results, please ring reception after 2pm. Text reminders for appointments will continue for those patients who have already agreed to receive texts. Please ask at reception if you wish to opt in to this service.

Patient Satisfaction Survey
